Weeds can let you know what conditions are in your soil and therefore what will grow easily for you or what you have to ammend. It is all about growing conditions, I spent years trying to create a climate for herbs to grow in that was pretty difficult for them and I would loose plants every year until finally I decided to go with the flow and plant what would easily grow on my site.
